Camping 2013

Friday, August 9, 2013

This summer we went on two different camping trips in two different parks. I finally downloaded all the pictures from the camera to my computer. I have a tendency of keeping photos on my computer for a while until I literally have to force myself to transfer to the computer (laziness, procrastination, call it whatever you want!). I have combined the two camping trips into one. Both were super fun and super exciting!

The first trip we went to was at Long Point Provincial Park. On our first night we ended up experimenting with a neat feature our friend's camera had using our flashlights. They turned out very funky!

The park was amazing. The beach was so clean and just down the road from our campsite, and the campsite was very nice.

Even our fur-baby loved camping! He was all for high-fives!

We played pictionary to pass the time...

...and walked the beach trail both day and night. The starry night sky was just breathtaking; however I could not take a picture of it! It was like being in those domes with the stars projected on the ceiling. Just magnificent!

We stayed only three days, two nights. We were all sad to leave, even Sparky!

This past weekend, we visited Craigleith Provincial Park located right on the Georgian Bay.

The park is right across from Blue Mountain, an alpine ski resort in Ontario. The views driving in the area were just spectacular.

Many of the campsites are so close to the road that the noise of the cars was  sometimes too loud. But we were closer to the Georgian Bay shore that the waves overpowered the noise from the fast-traveling cars. We were just steps away from the beautiful scenic view of the shale bedrock along the shore and the clear waters of Georgian Bay.

The sunset made it that much scenic and breathtaking!

We decided to drive up Blue Mountain and hike atop the 420 metre scenic view. Such a beautiful view of the entire city and bay!

We made some yummy food on the barbecue! Some traditional European hamburgers, stuffed tomato and cheese portobello mushrooms, spicy chicken shish kabobs, baked potatoes, and corn-on-the-cob (separate nights, not all in one day!!).

Weekend Recap

Monday, April 22, 2013

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! It was a busy one for me. Here is what my weekend looked like, in pics :)

Our whole town woke up to a white surprise Saturday morning. It is the weekend of Earth Day and who would've thought we would still get snow? It isn't as bad as I'm making it seem like. But I am just wondering: if April showers bring May flowers, what does April snow bring then?
This is from our compost area we have in the back yard with the leaves...snow in April just makes me cringe!

I met up with my sister and my best friend for a nice brunch. We went to a cute little place that just opened up here in town. I enjoyed a nice glass of cold lemonade. I LOVE lemonade! Especially during the summer months since I sip on some lemonade all.the.time during the hot summer days!
This is now my new fave brunch dish:  breakfast flatbread. It is just scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon and spinach on a warm naan bread drizzled with hollandaise sauce.

And I also found some time to get my nails done. I got the gel nail polish, which I love since it lasts me more than a month without any chipping (even with all the housework I do!). And since I get the french tip style, it is so easy to retouch with the acrylic nail polish I have at home as my nails grow.  I just love the shine of the nails after a nice manicure!

Hope you all had a great weekend! And happy Earth Day today!

Weekend Recap

Monday, February 25, 2013

Hi all! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Late last week it started snowing, hard! So we decided to build a snowman. I haven't built one in a very long time. And considering that spring is on its way (I hope!), me and the hubby decided to build one in case this was the last snowfall of the season. It started off as a snowball, which rolled into a giant snow boulder, and ended up with a giant 6 foot snowman! Sorry for the lack of quality in the picture - it was taken with my phone camera.

On Saturday we went down to the farmer's market and bought some necessities we needed. I love going there, just because you get to see and buy so many different things. Plus supporting local farmers and businesses is always a good feeling. I can't wait till the summer so the market will be filled with fresh local produce. I love eating local food because it is always fresh and eating at pick-your-own farms is a blast!

Sunday was a more relaxing and easy-going day with nothing too exciting. No pictures of that (unless you want me to post one up of me in my PJs!).
